He pilfered many a wealthy customer by persuading them to invest into the San Sebastian Mines, a copper mining project in Mexico named for one of his Spanish ancestors. Could it be that Madoff had motives other than greed? Is there more to coincidence between the striking similarities between the Madoff scandal and the mining misadventures of the protagonist of the magnum opus of Bernie Madoff's close friend Alan Greenspan's close friend Ayn Rand?
